IPSA is a French Graduate Engineering School specialized in aeronautics and space. It offers a 5-year program leading to a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, a summer school, and two 2-year Master of Science programs. Entirely dedicated to flight, propulsion, and space systems, the programs combine solid scientific foundations, hands-on projects, and international exposure.
Nowadays, the usage of drones covers a large specter of applications. Among these, we can find search and rescue, monitoring or even exploration. Drones are especially prized for being cost effective, stable, semi or fully autonomous and able to carry loads.
To increase the possibilities enabled by the drones, physical interactive tools, such as robotic arms, can be attached to their chassis. Such systems allow drones to fulfill more complex missions that require interactions between the drone and the environment.
Our 2-week program aims at providing you key concepts about the flying equation system and about how to model and control drones. First, you will master autonomy, control, and sensor-based stabilization. Second, you will test, analyze, and showcase your work with confidence. Build, configure, and fly your own multi-rotor drone !
Agenda
Week 1: Introduction to Drones
Explore the different types of drones and learn the basics of piloting.
Week 2: From Theory to Practice
Design, build, and fly your own drone—then showcase your project!
Week 3: From theory to practice
Build, fly and present your drone!
IPSA Summer School is as much about having fun as it is about learning! We’ll make sure you will have a memorable experience in Paris through the interactive visits and intercultural workshops we prepare all along the 2-week program. From a day at the majestic Versailles Palace to a scenic Seine River cruise and guided tours through the heart of Paris, students will discover Paris and French culture in all its forms.
